The montage of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, performed at a ceremony to celebrate Teatro Municipal of São Paulo’s 100th anniversary, on Monday, was incredible. With scenic direction by Felipe Hirsch, art direction by Daniela Thomas and musical direction and conducting by maestro Abel Rocha – ahead of the City Symphony Hall and the Lyric Choir – the show was applauded by a distinguished audience, formed by official authorities and personalities from the world of culture.

* The set design, taking advantage of all the features of modernized theater stage, broke new ground by using a pool in the third act, to reproduce the swamp in the story. The singers acted within a water mirror, soaking their feet and clothing, in an unusual performance.

* The singers were amazing, especially the protagonists Bruno Capronis, Leonardo Capalbo, Alexandra Lubchanky and Luiza Francesconi and a special appearance by Celine Imbert as Giovanna. "Everyone is magnificent," said singer Marina Lima. Architect Isay Weinfeld also loved the montage. "I think Felipe and Daniela’s work is genius!"

* At the end of the show, the entire cast assembled and sang "Happy Birthday" to the Opera House. The moment left everyone shivering. Beautiful!
