The transsexual Brazilian model, Lea T, son of former soccer player Toninho Cerezo, is definitely in the spotlight, with evidence in both international and national media. This week he was featured in the British newspaper “The Guardian”, which published a story about all the personal problems that Lea, considered the first supermodel transsexual in the world, has faced throughout his career.

* In the interview, Lea is portrayed as a solitary figure, with dilemmas regarding the acceptance of a Catholic family and society, and a complicated love life or even nonexistent. He is also reminded, in the text, of when he met Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy’s creative director, while living in London. Riccardo was the one who encouraged him to pursue a career as a model.

* At one point, Lea says he doesn’t allow himself the "luxury" of being in love and defines him as a pessimist when it comes to the chances of finding happiness with someone else. "We, transsexuals are born and grow up alone. After the sex change surgery we are born again, but again alone. And then we die alone too " he says.
