A change is going to come to L’Oréal: British executive Lindsay Owen-Jones, who’s been the company’s CEO for decades, will be replaced by Jean-Paul Agon. Rumors of Owen-Jones’ departure have been around in the backstage of Paris’ business world for months, especially after the scandal involving Liliane Bettencourt, L’Oréal’s major shareholder.

But unlike French photographer François-Marie Banier, Owen-Jones actually earned it – under his leadership, L’Oréal’s annual sales went from US$ 1.5 billion in 1988 to US$ 53 billions in 2010.
