After the huge success that was the amfAR gala dinner in Sao Paulo, the charitable gang headed for another destination. They went to the French Riviera, where on Thursday it happened another gala dinner of the entity that aims to raise funds for AIDS research.
* The party’s entrance was clogged with photographers and stars: Jude Law, Uma Thurman, Kanye West, Sean Penn, Kirsten Dunst, Gwen Stefani, Carine Roitfeld and her children, Julia and Vladimir; Giovanna Battaglia – with a very daring look, Charlotte Casiraghi, the tops Alessandra Ambrosio and Ana Beatriz Barros, with friends Mattheus Mazzafera and Daniel Urzedo, and Simone Abdelnour Garfinkel and Ana Paula Junqueira – whew! – Were just some of the names that stopped by the evening.
* The party was held at the Hotel du Cap and broke the record for donations: there were 10 million euros. The highest bid was given by two games of tennis with Prince Albert of Monaco, for 500 thousand euros each. That’s what we call a game where everybody wins! The honoree of the evening was the diva Elizabeth Taylor, who died this year, and at various times, portions of "Cleopatra" went on the screens. Bebel Gilberto stole the show when she appeared in the middle of dinner singing "Girl from Ipanema" and made everyone have fun with her.
* One of the tables that stood out the most was Pucci’s and its well-born and powerful. Peter Dundas, creative director of the brand and Laudomia Pucci, who was in Brazil recently, shared the place with the Greek brothers Stavros and Eugenie Niarchos, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Alex Dellal, Charlotte Casighari’s boyfriend, among others. Amazing, isn’t it?
