This buy happened even before the clothes came out to public, in September of this year, and only now Daphne came out to explain why she stopped the clothes from being sold to anyone else. 
* To her the auction could be compared to a “slaughter”. “It “would not be merely a sale of clothes; it would be a sale of what was left of Isabella. The carrion crows would gather and take away her essence forever”, she told the French “Financial Times”. Daphne also told she talked to Isabella’s family and close friends to know if they would approve her bidding. Now she says she is going to save the collection as the old owner would have liked.
