Gilberto Gil really is relentless. The composer, who has just released the CD "Gil + 10", is the protagonist of the documentary "Connecting South – The New World" and talked exclusively to Glamurama about highlights of the shoot. The film, directed by Pierre-Yves Borgeaud (from Switzerland) and Frenchman Emmanuel Gétaz, shows the musician traveling around the great powers of the Southern Hemisphere – Brazil, South Africa and Australia.
* "In Sydney, I met Peter Garrett, former lead singer of Midnight Oil and Minister for the Environment of the country. We have this in common, so we talked about music and politics," he said. But what impressed him the most was the Australian Aboriginal culture. "It is a very ancient civilization that managed to preserve their traditions. I love their cosmogony, as they explain the origin of the universe. "
* This year, he was also in the Upper Amazon, at Amazonia State, where he visited Yanomami tribes. We are eager to see the result!
