Things are almost ready for the soft opening of Figurati, the Italian restaurant of Le Vin’s Francisco Barroso and Nancy Mattos, on Tuesday. The house, led by them and their children, will praise classic Italian food. "The idea is to preserve the most authentic tastes without much fabrication," says Marcilio Araujo, executive chef of the group. Marcilio will run the kitchen of Figurati next to Fred Barroso, Francisco’s youngest son, who returned to Brazil last week – after more than one year in Florence, Italy – to take care of final details. With everything ready, now all they need is the arrival of fresh ingredients, which are being delivered to the big night!
* Designed by architect Daniela Mattos, daughter of Nancy, the place is warm and has a detail that makes all the difference: a picture of photographer Luiz Tripolli, with the face of Fellini.
