After many trips, the couple Francisco Barroso and Nancy Mattos is getting ready to open yet another restaurant: the Italian Figurate. The place, which opens its door in Jardins in early October, will be headed by executive chef Marcílio Araujo, also of Le Vin Bistro, who promises classic Italian cuisine as cappeletti in brodo, brasato and gnocchi, fresh pasta all made right there . * The idea is that Francisco’s son, Fred, should take over the kitchen of Figurate soon, as soon as he comes back from a season in Florence, Italy, where he’s been studying cuisine for over a year.
