Known for selling torn t-shirts that have become icons by more than US$ 1000, today Balmain announced that it will create a new line, cheaper and more accessible.

* In partnership with the Italian group Ittierre SpA, the new label will have menswear and womenswear will be called Pierre Balmain – in honor of the founder of the maison. Contrary to what one would think, Olivier Rousteing, the new creative director of the fashion house, will not be responsible for the brand and will just give advice and assistance to a team of designers who will be hired later this month.

* And it’s good to make room on your planners, because the first collection will be ready in September and will be presented at the 2012 summer season. Let’s wait and see…
