Shakira and her boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, are officially taking some “time apart,” after being together for 11 years. They posted the news on Shakira’s official website this Tuesday, in a letter signed by both. It dealt with the whole thing in a pretty romantic fashion: “They have been the most wonderful years of our lives, and thanks to that love and the respect that we share for one another we have been an exceptional couple and partners.”
* They made the decision in August of last year, but have kept everything under wraps until now. It’s worth noting that Antonio is also the singer’s manager. That’s right, he’s keeping his job. In the text, they even say this is a temporary separation, for “individual growth.” We just hope that the news won’t interfere with the concerts the singer is scheduled to do around here…
