Samuel L. Jackson is a very committed actor and one of the most talented of his generation. Now, he will be able to join his activism to his craft. He’s been cast to play Martin Luther King in the musical "The Mountaintop," which tells the story of the night before Mr. King’s assassination. The show is scheduled to premiere in October and will actually be the actor’s first time on Broadway.
* The rumors that Samuel would be cast have been around for some time, but it’s now been confirmed. He was supposed to have Halle Berry as co-star, but she chose to step aside because of a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Gabriel Aubry, for their daughter’s custody. They would have made a great pair, wouldn’t they?
