The World Cup, The Olympics, Rock in Rio, sea and. .. Jazz. Rio de Janeiro, so fashionable for its landscape and events, will now host a jazz festival as well. The BMW Jazz Festival, which at first would only be in Sao Paulo, will have a special format in the Marvelous City.
* The main stars of the show will land in Rio in June. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Wayne Shorter, Joshua Redman and Marcus Miller will do concerts at Teatro Oi Casa Grande, on June 13 and 14. Tickets go on sale online on Tuesday.
* Wayne Shorter’s quartet is opening night in Rio. Wayne emerged in the 1960s as one of the musicians from Miles Davis’s band. Not bad, huh?
