On Thursday evening, Jardim Europa gained extra sparkle: the amfAR gala dinner, which was held in Brazil for the first time at the home of architect Felipe Diniz. In all, there were 24 tables spread across the garden – full of jabuticabas – and in command of some of them were Henrique Pinto, Ana Paula Junqueira, Marcus Elias, Naji Nahas, Daniel Urzedo, Jair Ribeiro and Dani Cutait.. The most lively table was number 6, which had Francisco Costa as host – not coincidentally, that was where Glamurama was. ? ?
* Among the most elegant women were Patrícia Gasparian, Paula Raia, Fernanda de Goeye, Ana Joma Fasano e Raquel Silveira, in a beautiful black Rick Owens gown, not obvious at all and very contemporary. Other names that made an impression? Raquel Correa, Anna Cláudia Rocha, Fabiana Pastore, Fernanda Abdalla, de Jil Sander, and Carolina Overmeer – in a good look that’s just her style, discreet and chic. Among the models, the most beautiful were Ana Beatriz Barros and Isabeli Fontana. * During the evening, there were canapes and then dinner, spotless, served by Buffett Fasano. When it came time for speeches, Felipe Diniz, host of the party, took the stage to say thanks, followed by Kevin Frost, CEO of amfAR, and Claire Danes, who was beautiful, a real woman with relaxed hair and proper clothes properly. Very chic! But the most moving speech was when Francisco Costa remembered two friends who went with him to New York 25 years ago and died of AIDS. ? ?
* After the speeches, Jennifer Hudson sang three songs – one from the movie "Dreamgirls," which earned her an Oscar, "Let It Be,” by the Beatles, and a Whitney Houston song that got everybody’s blood flowing, so much so that she came down the stage and walked among the tables as she sang. When the presentation ended, the charity auction began, and the amount raised surpassed US$ 1 million, adding to the sale of tables and lots auctioned, surpassing amfAR’s goal.
* Jet-setters Andrea Dellal, Bethy Lagardère and Georgina Brandolini were also there, along with Giovanni Bianco, Reynaldo Gianecchini, Luiza Brunet, Izabel Goulart, Fernanda Motta, Dimitri Mussard, Mariana Weickert, Gloria Coelho, Lorenzo Martone, Paulus Magnus and Raphael Falci. And the party really caught fire when Preta Gil began to sing, at 2 in the morning, and no one stood still. And when it comes to Preta, nothing like one of those taglines her to end the night: "I do not speak English, I only know the language of love." It was a great end to an epic party.
