Despite not getting any awards in the general categories, Brazil standed out in the Latin Grammy that happened on Thursday in Los Angeles. Hebe Camargo was one of the honorees of the night and presented some of the awards. Gilberto Gil won two awards for "Best Album of Brazilian roots music” with “Fé na Festa” and "Best MPB Album", with “Banda dois”.

* Maria Bethania won as "Best Brazilian Song" with "Tua," written by Adriana Calcanhotto. Claudia Leitte was also at the event, and presented some categories alongside Jaime Camil. She was nominated for "Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album", but who got that award was Sergio Mendes.
