Forbes magazine has released the new list of the best paid soccer players in the world. And at least when it comes to money, there’s nobody better on the pitch than David Beckham, ranking 1 with earnings of US$ 40 million in the last 12 months.
* Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo comes soon after him, with an annual income of $ 38 million. Lionel Messi, appointed by FIFA as the best player in the world, is third on the list, with earnings of $ 32 million.
* Rounding out the Top 10 are Brazilians players Kaka (U.S. $ 25 million) and Ronaldinho ($ 24 million), Frenchman Thierry Henry ($ 21 million), the Britishmen Wayne Rooney ($ 20 million) and Frank Lampard (U.S. $ 17 million), Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic ($ 17 million) and Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o ($ 15 million).
