It’s not every day that we have the opportunity to watch such a talented team assembled for the staging of an opera in Rio. The recital in question, "The Love for Three Oranges" by Sergei Prokofiev, will take place on Sunday at the Municipal Theater and will be the farewell performance of the 2011 season by Petrobras Symphony Orchestra (Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica).
* Led by artistic director and conductor of Opes, Isaac Karabtchevsky, the opera, sung in French with subtitles in Portuguese, will be directed by Alberto Renault and with costume designer signed by Isabela Capeto. This is actually the designer’s debut in the world of opera.
* The fairy tale, a rookie in Rio, depicts the trajectory of a young prince in search of his love. The set is signed by Baba Vacaro, and Marcia Milhazes is in charge of the choreography. Isn’t that a fantastic team?
