There’s nothing like throwing a party with Kate Moss as a confirmed guest. That was the case of Mario Testino’s cocktail party. He was launching his new agency in Brazil, Higher and Higher, at Numero bar in Jardins, but the festivities didn’t last long. It began at 9 pm and ended shortly after midnight.
* Mario, his partner Jan Olesen, close friends and Kate arrived early. They had champagne and caipirinhas, ate the bar’s famous chicken drumsticks (coxinhas), listened to the sound of DJ Xande Ostrovsky, from Rio, and chitchatted with other guests, such as Rodrigo Santoro and Mayana Moura. Who else was there? Carlos Jereissati Filho, Ara Vartanian and Sabrina Gasperin Vartanian, Natalie Klein and Tufi Duek, Rogério Fasano and Ana Joma Fasano, Henrique Pinto, Reinaldo Lourenço and Rico Mansur, among many others.
* Kate, who was wearing a short black skirt, spent most of the time just sitting at the table farthest from the entrance. Her boyfriend, Jamie Hince, couldn’t attend, for he had already returned to London. Kate, in fact, has even made some new friends here: Mayana Moura and Candé Salles among them. The trio, plus, Guilherme Dalvi, Mayana’s new boyfriend, hung out together until it was time to go. Candé and Kate shared a car as the producer helped her dodge the flashes – and remain standing. All very Kate.
* After that, a group of about 30 people went to a more private party, in a house in Jardim Europa. And to the surprise of many, guess who was there? Caetano Veloso! Kate and Caetano met, exchanged pleasantries and mingled until the wee hours, when the top went back to her hotel. It was a long night…
