Wyclef Jean’s idea of running for president of Haiti went downhill. He announced on Tuesday that he was resigning his candidature. "This wasn’t an easy choice, I put lot of thought into it", says an official statement. A month ago, Haitian authorities had already rejected the rapper application, because he hasn’t lived in the country during the last five years.
* With the end of this venture, he intends to release a new album next year. Though he was born in Haiti, Wyclef was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and in 2004 created the Yelé Haiti charity foundation.
