It’s not unexpected, to see the fashion world closer to the soccer pitch, in times where players like David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, are so in fashion. Let us explain: Gucci and the Chelsea Football Club just signed a three years contract. From now on, the designers will be responsible for the player’s uniforms and a renovation in the director’s lounge in Stamford Bridge, London.
* During the release party, this Tuesday, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana couldn’t help but showing they were happy with the partnership. “Soccer players are fashion icons inside and outside of the field; this is a way to show our love to England and London, who were always an inspiration to our work” said Domenico.
* The new looks have the players wearing a two button navy suite made of twill wool, with shirt and blue jacquard tie. They will also produce a wool coat, a blue cashmere pullover and, for the more comfortable days, a dark blue shirt, jeans and black kid sneakers. Reminder: the designers are also responsible for the uniforms for Milan and the Italian national team.
