Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg has just committed to donate half of her fortune to the Giving Pledge, the charitable foundation created by Bill Gates. The billionaire´s initiative is for the richest families in the United States to take a pledge and donate part of their inheritance to charitable causes. There is no legal contract or obligation to stand with the agreement, but the word of those who agree is worth the guaranty.
* In partnership with the investor Warren Buffett, Gates invited 80 families to commit, and so far, 70 already accepted. In the agreement, they can choose how they want to donate. Among those already who have signed are George Lucas, Ted Turner and Michael Bloomberg.
