The Gil family has present at Expresso 2222. Bela Gil, daughter of the hosts, made a point of coming from New York to attend the Bahia Carnival. She came with her husband, JP Demasi, and daughter, Flor. She’s already a fan of Carnival in Bahia and this is her second time here.

We asked who’d taught her that and she didn’t hesitate to say: “My aunt, Preta Gil.” Bela is staying until Thursday and then flies back to the cold of NY.
