After the death of Nicolas Hayek, president of Swatch, the company is still under the control of the lebanese Hayek family.  Nicolas’s daughter, Nayla Hayek, has been announced as her father’s successor in one of the official reports of the Sweden group.

*The news surprised many people since the person most likely to be his successor was his son, Nick, executive director of the company. However, according to “WWD” website the business strategies are not going to change. Nayla, who has been on the Board of Directors of the Swatch Group since1995, was named vice-chairwoman in the beginning of this year.

* “Nayla Hayek has been preparing herself towards this function during the past years and has a long-time experience within the Board of Directors. In addition, she was successfully active in many operational functions during this period of time”, says the announcement.
