With his birthday on Sunday, Tom Cruise got a surprise party from Katie Holmes in Miami on Saturday. He celebrated 49 years with his wife, who planned the whole thing – very quietly, by the way – to his 40 closest friends at SoHo Beach House. Thrilled, she made a point to call each of the guests to RSVP.
* In addition to the friends, the three children of Tom, Suri, with Katie, and Connor and Isabella, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, also enjoyed the night with their father.
* In time: the couple’s been on the rise in the United States. Tom promises a comeback with the movie "Rock of Ages," still in production, and Katie debuted in the role of Jackie O. in the miniseries "The Keneddys" this week.
