After five years leading the creative direction of Balmain, Christophe Decarnin is no longer part of the brand’s style team, according to the website WWD. For now, it wasn’t been decided who will succeed him at the maison.
* Alain Hivelin, CEO of the brand, issued a statement praising Christophe’s time at Balmain. "Decarnin worked with us for many years and, at all times, he learned to respect our history and contribute to make Balmain the success it is today." Also according to WWD, it was Christophe who quit, citing doctors’ orders, since he didn’t appear at the end of winter 2011/12 fashion show, for being hospitalized at a private clinic.
* Riccardo Tisci, Alber Elbaz and Stefano Pilati are the favorites for the post, but people close to Decarnin say that a person from Balmian’s own styling team should get the job. Place your bets …
