Get your costumes, sunscreen, and energy, glamurettes, since it’s already Carnival in Rio The city streets will be taken by the first block shows this weekend. Glamurama, as usual, doesn’t want you to miss out on anything, so we’ve prepared a little guide.

* On Saturday, one of the most traditional city blocks, Banda de Ipanema, performs. The parade, which this year honors Cacique de Ramos, another classic block from Rio, starts at 5:30 pm around General Osorio square in Ipanema, and goes through the whole neighborhood.

* Saturday still has Spanta Neném, meeting point of the gilded youth of Rio, which gathers on Cantagalo Park, at Lagoa. There’s also Desliga da Justiça, which meets up at Baixo Gávea, and is characterized by revelers dressed as superheroes . Fun, fun, fun!
