Guess who is about to return to the dock? We’re talking about Naomi Campbell, of course. The British supermodel is now being accused of perjury because of a suit brought against her by the cosmetics-marketing company Moodform Mission.
* Naomi signed a contract with the company to launch a perfume, a project that never took off. At the time, Carole White was still her agent and, incidentally, was also a director of Moodform Mission. Precisely because of this reason Naomi chose not to pursue the agreement, citing conflict of interest.
* The case went to court in 2006, when Naomi testified that Carole misrepresented her in the contract. The problem is that Carole claims to have a recording that contradicts what Naomi said under oath and that proves the top model knew everything. If that’s the case, Naomi lied in court. In the U.S., the penalty for committing such a crime, which resulted in Martha Stewart’s arrest, can be up to seven years in prison. Uh-oh…
