The trial of John Galliano is scheduled to begin on June 22. But as it always happens in these occasions, some details regarding the case, which should only be revealed in court, are already being reported in the French press.
* An example is the evidence that Dior had sufficient grounds to fire Galliano long before the anti-Semitic statements made by him in a cafe in the Marais. Internal documents attached to the suit, such as e-mails between directors, show that the maison turned a blind eye to the stylist’s drinking, swearing to subordinates, late arrivals and sometimes falures to show up to meetings scheduled in advance with Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH group, which owns Dior. Controversy in sight!
