In the uncontested position of the most successful Italian designer of all time, with personal wealth at U.S. $ 7 billion, it seems that Giorgio Armani can say whatever he wants. At a news conference this week, soon after the show at Milan Fashion Week, he measured no words.
* Among several controversial statements, the designer said the fashion industry "is in the hands" of bankers and investors instead of being controlled by someone who really understands the subject. Many people felt that the comment was a reference to Prada, whose shares recently debuted on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Asked about that possibility, Armani said only that he has no debt and therefore does not need to "sell stock to pay anybody anything."
* Even Dolce & Gabbana got some venom, whose clothing, according to Armani, make men "look like clowns." How about that?
