As Glamurama had reported in February, Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, is determined to convince Marc Jacobs to take over the post of creative director of Dior, which has been vacant since the resignation of John Galliano, in March this year.

* The two have met often in recent weeks to discuss the matter. Jacobs, the current creative director of Louis Vuitton, renewed his contract with LVMH in January, and it is possible for him to continue in his current position even if he takes over Dior. More likely, however, is that he’ll end up choosing between one of two.

* Arnault prefer him to go to Dior – as the billionaire sees it, Jacobs’ image will only do good to the fashion house, which was considerably shaken by the Galliano scandal. Although equally famous and prestigious around the world, Dior is a considerably larger company, and billed 21 billion euros in 2010, more than the 2.7 billion billed by LV. The question is whether the designer will accept the challenge.
