Bankers, politicians, artists and gallery owners shared tables at the traditional dinner sponsored by the Fundação Bienal (Biennial Foundation), on Tuesday in the Exhibition Hall of Ibirapuera Park. In addition to launching projects and raising funds for the Foundation, this year, the party celebrated 60 years of the Bienal. The honoree? Tomie Ohtake, 97, who got a standing ovation next to her son Ricardo.
* There was no shortage of praise and adulation. Especially to the president of the Bienal, Heitor Martins. The Municipal Secretary of Culture, Carlos Augusto Calil, recalled the times when Ccicillo Matarazzo also "passed the hat" to raise money on behalf of the Biennial. Chiefs of the most varied fields of culture got together at the most sought after tables.
