Milton Nascimento wants to give new direction to his career. A month ago, the singer replaced manager Paulo Lafayette by João Mário Linhares and Amaury Linhares, who manage careers of the likes of Ney Matogrosso. The duo’s idea is to go beyond just getting gigs, and but also enable and manage all projects involving the Milton Nascimento brand.
* They include a song book with music by Milton and digitizing his collection by Instituto Antonio Carlos Jobim. João Mário and Amaury will have their work cut out for them. Last week they began discussing a project to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the song "Travessia," which Milton sang for the first time at the Festival Internacional da Canção in 1967. A great concert with five special guests, one international and one of them never seen before, should wrap up the tour in honor of that date. In 2012, Milton also celebrates his 70th birthday, but on superstition, he’d rather not comment on those numbers.
