"It will be the best World Cup the world has ever seen." The statement is from Andres Sanchez, the sullen president of Corinthians, about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Asked about the controversial construction on the team’s stadium, in Itaquera, Andres said that it’s doing very well and more than that, it’s "46 days early."

* Andres Sanchez, who made sure to honor the launch of the book "Nação Corinthiana," by Toriba, at Casa Glamurama, said that he roots for Corinthians is because of his father. Andres became a club member at age four and, at 18, started a career there. "I made a political career on the team, went through every position up until president."

* The greatest challenge he faces at his post? "Journalists", responds quickly, still serious. But the most difficult moment as a fan, he claims, is to have dropped to the 2nd division. "We are now on the rise, recovering our credibility," he said, and added that the biggest difference between Corinthians and the other teams really is its supporters. "You can not know the outcome of the championships, but I’m sure the fans will always be there."
