First it was a book, then it became a movie, followed by a miniseries and a play. Now, "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" will return to movie theaters. The remake will be based on a play based on the work of Jorge Amado and directed by Pedro Vasconcelos.
* Marcelo Faria, who played Vadinho in the theater, reprises the role on the big screen. Carol Castro and Fernanda Paes Leme – who shared the role of Dona Flor in the play – and Duda Ribeiro, who played Teodoro, should also join the film’s cast.
* It’s worth noting that, in its theater run, the first film had an audience of 10.7 million people and beat box office records – which now belong to "Tropa de Elite 2" in 2010. Oh, and Bruno Barreto, director of the first director of "Dona Flor," and also holds the new record. The launch is scheduled for 2014.
