It seems like the "Le Monde" is really safe from bankruptcy. After months of negotiation, the group formed by Pierre Berge, Xavier Niel and Matthieu Pigasse finally scooped the purchase of the French newspaper, which was in financial trouble. But in the end, a twist in the story still managed to surprise everyone.
* Hours before the deadline they had to close the deal with the former owners of "Le Monde", the Spanish media group Prisa, announced that it will be the fourth member of the newspaper. In a text published on Wednesday, Berge, Niel Pigasse said it is essential that the profits of the publication enhance so that editorial freedom continue to exist.
