After being fired from his own brand, designer John Galliano already has a substitute. The newest creative director of the house is designer Bill Gaytten, who worked with John for 23 years. "I’ve been doing what I’m doing now for a long time," he said in an interview to "WWD."
* The first public appearance of Bill, age 51, was at the end of the brand’s menswear show, in Paris last Friday. Architect by training, Bill is British and was nominated by Sidney Toledano, CEO of John Galliano and Christian Dior, who considered him the best equipped person for the job. The men’s collection was a small sample of what lies ahead. As for ready-to-wear women, it’s still a mystery and nobody wants to talk about it. What a great suspense!
