A very powerful meeting took place in Washington this Sunday evening. President Barack Obama welcomed French billionaire Bernard Arnault for a chat. Beside Arnault – CEO of LVMH, which owns brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Pucci, Marc Jacobs and Celine – Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Diane von Furstenberg and her husband, Barry Diller, and architect Frank Gehry were also there.
*They talked about LVMH’s commitment to create jobs in the United States and the importance of globalization. After the meeting at the White House, Arnault received the "Corporate Citizenship" award and spoke about environmental contribution, fair trade and corporate social responsibility, but no word on John Galliano’s scandal. If words are silver, silence is golden, isn’t it?
