Just like that, with no warning, in a radio interview, Steven Soderbergh announced his retirement. The director said he’s unhappy with work and has been refusing new projects for three years. “When you want to kill yourself instead of getting in a van to go to a shooting, it’s time to allow someone who wants it.”

* He’s responsible for the movie Ocean’s 11 and its sequels, and won an Oscar for Erin Brockovich. But that’s not all! Soderbergh is involved in two feature films: Liberace, with Matt Damon and Michael Douglas, and Man from U.N.C.L.E., starring George Clooney. Oh and just for the record, the director is only 48 years old.
