Created by Daniella Helayel, Issa was already the darling brand of London Lulus. After Kate Middleton wore a creation of the Brazilian designer in her engagement announcement with Prince William, then, the company’s visibility soared. So much so that, this Monday, WWD announced that Camilla Al Fayed, daughter of Mohamed Al Fayed, former owner of Harrods, now owns 51% of the brand.
* Camilla will be the chairman, and Daniella is remain in the position of creative director. "I believe in Helayel’s creativity, she’s my friend and I admire her. We will invest heavily in the globalization of the brand. We want to grow!" Said Camilla. In the coming weeks Issa will get an e-commerce – there are plans for a store in Brazil, and another in London should open its doors this semester.
