Just as Glamurama had said, Paulo Coelho’s annual party to celebrate St. Joseph took place this weekend in Istanbul. The event, only for close friends, was rocking!

* The origin for such celebration is quite curious: when the writer was born in St. Joseph’s hospital, he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, almost choking him. The family went through a great ordeal, but, as we all know, he pulled through. At that point, Paulo’s mother made a promise and began to celebrate St. Joseph’s day, but after awhile ended up forgetting her promise.

* After many years without celebrations, during the famous trip that the writer made to Santiago de Compostela, Paulo decided to honor his mother’s promise and never stopped celebrating on March 19. The party was closed to the press, but we managed to get some exclusive footage. Here’s an excerpt – of the party and of the host’s speech:
