Things are getting heated up between Bernard Arnault, of the LVMH group, and the three families that control Hermès. The fight between the two parties began in October of last year, when Arnault, through a tender offer, bought 20.2% of Hermès’ stocks.
* Patrick Thomas, CEO of Hermès, described the attitude of the entrepreneur as "dishonest," and this week, he said they’re considering cancellation of the deal. In interviews, Arnault has been adopting the “make peace not war” attitude, but people who know him guarantee that he’s ready for a fight if it comes his way.
