The Ibirapuera Auditorium hosted the opening of the 34th São Paulo International Film Festival. In the event, Serginho Groisman introduced the film "The Curious Case of Angelica" by Manoel de Oliveira. Also there were names like Ricardo Ohtake, Andrucha Waddington, Antunes Filho, Monica Torres, Gilberto Kassab, Andrea Matarazzo, Daniela Thomas among others.
* Everyone felt the absence of Manoel de Oliveira, aged 101, who had to postpone his coming to Brazil because of a pacemaker replacement. According to the organizers of the event, he plans to come to our country before the end of the festival.
* In this edition will show over 400 films distributed in 20 cinemas, for two weeks. Besides all these movies, moviegoers can see an exhibition of photographs by Wim Wenders and an exhibition of original storyboards by one of the greats names of of cinema, Akira Kurosawa, at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake.
