Now that this season in Milan’s menswear is over, some of the most good looking boys in the world took the Milan-Paris shuttle to be on shows by leading fashion houses in France. Thierry Mugler was this Wednesday’s main attraction as it marked Nicola Formichetti’s debut as head of eighty-year-old maison. The next day, Rick Owens, Viktor & Rolf and Louis Vuitton caused a lot of buzz among fashionistas.
* Viktor & Rolf chose to leave aside the eccentricities so common to the duo and presented a classic and elegant collection. They only dared in one outfit, white shirt and shorts, which looked more like pajamas. Rick Owens, on the other hand, presented a futuristic collection, with plenty of leather and geometric cuts. There was even a kind of kilt on the catwalk. Louis Vuitton showed its new line of leather accessories, using fur, velvet and leather. The brand also bet on belts marking the waist, just as some brands in Milan
* Finally, Nicola Formichetti – Lady Gaga’s favorite stylist – made his debut at Thierry Mugler, and didn’t disappoint people who were expecting eccentricity. Lady Gaga’s musical direction was a spectacle in itself. Click here to see a snippet of the show, published on Gaga’s website.
