After presenting the Chanel Cruise collection in Cannes, Karl Lagerfeld is preparing for another achievement: the opening of an exhibition. The images will be presented officially at the opening of the amfAR gala dinner in Cannes on May 19. Curated by Carine Roitfeld, the exhibition will be have its photos auctioned off and all income from the sales reverts to fund research to cure AIDS.
* Some of the confirmed guests are Jean Paul Gaultier, Riccardo Tisci and Roberto Cavalli to name a few. Donatella Versace is taking care of decorating this year, and beyond the images, another batch of the auction draws attention, such as a photo of Naomi Campbell taken at the 40th anniversary of Roberto Cavalli’s brand and a photo taken by Herb Ritts of Elizabeth Taylor – one of the biggest supporters of amfAR since the event was created.
