New York Fashion Week started on Thursday and it’s already exciting fashionistas around the world. First, let’s check out the shows: BCBG Max Azria, Vena Cava and Richard Chai Love have all made an impression. BCBG bet on a simple but elegant collection. “It’s for a girl who gets up, puts on her boyfriend’s jacket and leaves, but is still classy,” says the stylist. Oh, and Aline Weber was beautiful at Richard’s show.
* Vena Cava’s collection had a grunge influence, but very elegant, bringing back the early 1990s. In this show, Gracie Carvalho represented Brazil. Finally, BCBG Max Azria brought a little bit of color to the catwalk, as well as trends such as color blocking, dresses and fluid skirts and high necks. Fabiana Meyer was the Brazilian contribution to the show. Common aspects on the first day? Greater lengths, and long skirts below the knee.
* The most talked about party that evening was the launching of Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld and Andy Valmorbida’s exhibit “Hallelujah,” at Washington Street. Flawless as usual, mother and sister, Carine and Julia, were among the guests.
