The CFDA Awards, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, that took place on Monday at the Lincoln Center in New York have left some fashionistas open-mouthed. The reason? Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, took the tittle of designer of the year from Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs.
*But Jacobs didn’t leave empty-handed. He was honored with the Life Achievement Award, given by Sofia Coppola, who, incidentally, is his friend and muse. Card-carrying fashionista, Kanye West took the stage to present the award for best international designer to Phoebe Philo, the creative director of Celine. Kanye almost cried and said "being a big fan of everybody who was at the awards."
*Lady Gaga won Fashion Icon and hit the stage wearing a Thierry Mugler. The singer thanked Anna Wintour for her support and called the editor in chief of Vogue U.S. a "bitch." Anna, filmed in close-up, said, "that’s lovely." All with a smile. Things of fashion…
