The world stopped to watch the royal wedding on the morning of Friday. Kate, now Catherine, and William, were married in Westminster Abbey in London. Wearing McQueen, as Glamurama had foretold, the bride walked down the aisle while more than one million people took to the streets with banners, photos and flowers to welcome the new royal couple.
* At about half past nine this morning, the lovebirds headed to Buckingham Palace, where they waved to their subjects and gave the short but anticipated kiss – on the same site where, 29 years ago, Charles and Diana did the same.
* And the event didn’t only bring joy to the English. The city raked in tourism and trade the equivalent of 1.5 billion dollars – and the investment was 90 million. Not to mention the feeling of renewal emitted by the royal family, who hadn’t been very popular in the eyes of the public. So there’s only reason to celebrate!
