Besides being one of Hollywood’s most wanted actors of the moment, winner of a Golden Globe, published author and freshman of two of the most conceptualized Universities in theUnited States, James Franco has found some time in his busy schedule to organize an exhibition. Opened this week in Clocktower Gallery, in New York, the exhibition “The Dangerous Book Four Boys” is already a must-go attraction to the cool people in the Big Apple.
* In interviews James explained the idea was to “explore traditional aspects of masculinity, sexuality and fame”, through photographs, films, drawings and sculptures. As it happens in these cases, the opinions about the show are diverse. Emily Exton, critic to the “Entertainment Weekly”, classified the actor’s work as “interesting but depressive”. “It kind of makes us feel bad about ourselves”, she wrote.
* On the other side, journalist Leslie Minora, from “Village Voice”, was more impressed by James’ multimedia style than with the art exhibit. “After all, what can’t this guy do?”, asked Minora. We are definitely not talking about just another pretty face on the big screen.
