The starry documentary "Dzi Croquettes," about the famous theater group in Rio in the 1970s, has won several awards in Brazilian festivals. Now, the film aims to be nominated for an Oscar.
* To apply for a nomination for the top prize in world cinema, a film should be displayed for a week in New York and another one in Los Angeles – which costs about U.S. $ 23 000. The directors, Tatiana Issa and Rafael Alvarez, are raising the money through the online platform "kickstart", in which any person may make a donation.
* In time, for those who haven’t seen the movie yet, there will be a screening on August 25 in Cinema Mostra AIDS at Centro Cultural São Paulo, at 8 pm.
