Glamurama was delighted after the press screening of the animation "Rio", by Carlos Saldanha, on Monday. Everything is very vibrant, colors, music, characters… The postcard landscapes are all there and portrayed in great detail.
* There are many poetic licenses, of course, and Rio really is shown from an outside perspective, from a tourist point of view. Still, the animation is a hit with samba dancing birds and even monkeys who form a gang of pickpockets. Yeah, of course they had to talk about crime… But they do it in a subtle way. In addition to primates, there is only the environmental criminals, who kidnap a couple of blue macaws and are more like chicken thieves.
* Well, what matters is that taking a “glamurette junior” is a great excuse so you can check out the animation, especially in 3D. The pity is that if you watch the dubbed version, you’ll miss out on voices of Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx and co. Here’s the tip!
