It’s been a long time that gastronomic trucks are a success in New York. What nobody imagined is that the traditional restaurant "Tavern on the Green", in Central Park, that was closed last year, would give its space to a parking place full of them.
* Among various competitors, only four were chosen. The artisanal ice-cream "Van Leeuwen", the "Pera Mediterranean" restaurant – with Turkish food –, the "Ladle of Love" – serving soups, sandwiches and salads – and the "Rickshaw Dumpling" – specialized in Oriental food (mainly on a type of roundish fried cupcake)– they already have their spaces guaranteed on the park throughout next year.
* The little trucks will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the opening day will be October 15th on the corner of West Central Park and 67 Street. Delicious!
